Vintage 1970s Bell Moto Star Motocross Helmet with Duckbill, Box & Papers 7 1/4
Offered is this beautiful vintage Bell Moto Star helmet in the original box with paperwork and many of the original accessories. The helmet is a genuine, yellow Bell Moto Star helmet, size 7 1/4. This helmet is in amazing condition appearing as if it was very well cared for and only used a few times back in the day. Included in this ensemble is the following.
Yellow Bell Moto Star helmet - size 7 1/4. Original Box, Bell Moto Star - Size: 7 1/4 Color: Yellow. Original Yellow Duckbill Visor with its original description card. Original Bell Helmets instructions pamphlet. Original strap and snap, and another snap and small screw with repair instructions, all still sealed in its plastic packaging!
MXL flip face shield with black snap visor (not original to the ensemble but found in the box). As previously mentioned, this classic helmet is in amazing condition.
It is overall very clean inside and out with the shell retaining its original bright yellow luster. There are only a few very small chips and blemishes on the helmet's exterior shell.Based on this helmet's excellent condition, it must have been very well cared for or used only a few times. The foam interior inside the helmet has completely disintegrated so I cleaned out all of the loose debris I could. The black, soft cloth lining inside the helmet is very clean and in really nice condition. The vinyl casing on the chin straps are supple and not cracked. The two "D" ring chin strap fasteners are in nice condition.
The vinyl inside the helmet that protects and covers the riders mouth is in excellent condition. This helmet was manufactured in June of 1977 as "6-77" is noted on the chin strap. The duckbill visor attaches nicely and all of the snaps are serviceable and work as they should.
One corner of the duckbill has a blemish on the left front edge. This is a minor imperfection in my opinion but I thought I'd point it out as everything else is in outstanding condition.
The box and paperwork are also included and they show your typical signs of shelf wear and toning due to age. I do not believe this to be an original Bell item or accessory.Visor also attaches nicely to the helmet and all of the snaps are serviceable and work as they should. The clear face shield is very cloudy and it should be replaced if one decides to use a shield on the helmet. This ensemble is a Bell Moto Star "time capsule" and a wonderful vintage piece to own, display and enjoy. I will double box the items inside the original box to ensure they arrive safely and undamaged.
